Company History

Nicol & Associates, Inc. (NAI) is an entrepreneurial success story. NAI was founded in May 1989 by Donald V. Nicol to provide facility engineering to the oil and natural gas industry. Don's experience and contacts gained as Manager of Project Engineering for Delhi/Texas Oil & Gas Corporation and Gulf Interstate Engineering Company provided a firm base to build a successful engineering consulting company.

In March 1990, Mark J. Lane became the first full-time employee of NAI. In 1998, Nicol & Associates, Inc. was incorporated as a Texas corporation with Don as President and Mark was named Vice President of Engineering.

Under Don's guidance through the 90's, the firm grew to one of the largest oil and gas facility engineering consulting companies in the North Texas area. Today, NAI employs 8 engineers, CAD Designers, CAD Operators, GIS Analysts, and an office administrator.

Don retired in January 2000, retaining Chairman of the Board status, and Mark was named President of NAI. Since January 2000, NAI has expanded its client base and continued to operate in the efficient, cost effective manner as it did under the guidance of its founder. In March 2004, the torch was passed as Don sold 100% of NAI to Mark.

Don now lives in East Texas on nearly 100 acres on the outskirts of Henderson.
